I used to be one of those who backed every move towards what I saw as reconciliation and peace but now I realize that the mindset of the middle east sees such things as a weakness to be taken advantage of , a fatal flaw. Anyone trying to get me back on board the peace train will have to start by talking about educating towards change and have the patience to realize that such change cannot be rushed , it cannot be a top down change because in that scenario the assassin can bring a total turnaround and plunge everything into chaos. Only when the whole order that has led the region into a millennium of stagnation, hate and vengeance for slights, real or perceived, has been changed can you begin to trust changes to lead in a logical progression towards the goals we would like to encourage. I'm not sure if people are really invested in the kind of change necessary for this to happen until they are we will find ourselves continuously in these endless rounds of violence and the buildup towards it.
