Unchecked settler attacks are harming Palestinians, undermining Israel's security, and threatening regional stability. Stopping them is a moral obligation and strategic necessity.
I think this would be good for Israel's domestic interests, but I don't think this will have an impact on Israel's international standing. The hysterical Gaza war reactions already made maximum use of the outrage, everyone inclined to be mad at Israel is already maximally outraged and anyone who isn't is sick of hearing about it anyway.
I agree everyone is already maximally outraged and also sick of hearing about it. However, the Gaza War reaction was in part because the media made people so aware of the war. If the international media reported on the settler situation too, people would likewise be outraged about it.
We need to call out both sides. 100% the settlers inciting violence is a major issue that should not be tolerated. No one should be doing vigilante justice anything.

"Israel’s reluctance to stop the settler attacks could trigger a refugee crisis as more Palestinians cross the border from the West Bank into Jordan."
In other words, short-term pain for long-term gain, a West Bank with more defensible borders around Israeli areas and fewer Oct 7 supporters.
Nothing Israel does will change the rabid Oct 8 attitudes in many Western countries so why take a security risk to do so?
Best to be realistic about the actual mindset of the Palestinians, as seen by this article published only 2 weeks before October 7

Right, most people will not change their stance on Israel, no matter what that stance is. Whatever happens now, the lines are drawn.

I agree. Both sides are inflicting harm in different ways for different reasons and neither should be.
